2023 Club Banquet ... A Night of Generosity and Thanks
What is the Aurora Sewing Center CLUB?
There are actually three different Clubs (Sewing Club, Embroidery Club and Serger Club). These Clubs are a monthly lecture-demo series which start in early October and run through May each year. Initially this was called Bernina Club, but as Aurora Sewing Center grew, so has Club and all the relationships and inspiration. Aurora Sewing Center’s Club(s) are the perfect place to learn more and be exposed to new things, while extracting helpful tips along the way. It is also a great forum to be inspired in your craft, while have some sewing fun with like-minded friends! We encourage all experience levels to participate, regardless of your skills or machine’s make or model. You can register for individual Club sessions, in-store or virtually if a topic catches your eye. You can also dive right in and can register for the whole Club season of 8 programs. Alternatively, if you purchase a new machine from Aurora Sewing Center, we provide you with a Complementary Club season to help getting you moving on your new machine.
How do we celebrate at Club Banquet?
We start with a very large Sew and Share room, where the Club Member’s most prized sewing, quilting, embroidery and serger projects are on display for banquet attendees to see. Each year the Sew and Share room is a beautifully displayed venue of hard work and creativity. What is really on display is the countless hours that goes into preparing a project, the cutting, the stitching and the unstitching with the seam ripper, and re-stitching. The work of course is amazing, and then the smiles!
This special evening also includes a lot of socializing and sharing stories. We have one of the best chicken family-style dinners around.
There are sew-many giveaways too, just over 90 last night!
So each year we pull together all types of products and with that we raise funds for a charity through both a silent auction and a fifty-fifty raffle.
We then top the evening off with a bunch of fantastic door prizes, like additional product baskets and sewing machines!
From an Aurora Sewing Center’s owner’s perspective our Club Banquet provides us a chance to:
- Celebrate the Club Season and all the education shared throughout the year.
- Thank a variety of our vendors for contributing to this amazing evening.
- To recognize our hard working, very talented, inspiring Aurora Sewing Center teachers, and our wonderful hard-working, knowledgeable employee team!
- And say Thank You to each and everyone one of you!
From the overwhelming support from our teachers, employees and customers, every aspect of last night was a testament to the power of unity and compassion of our sewing community.
The highlight of the evening was the incredible amount of money raised at the Club Banquet for two deserving charities that are warming hearts across Western New York; Reagan’s Rainbows of Hope and Comfort Quilters from All Saints Lutheran Church. The generosity displayed by everyone was truly awe-inspiring. The funds raised exceeded all expectations. Being part of this was a humbling experience.
For all of those that attended, thank you! For those that missed this year, we will see you next year, hopefully at one or all of the upcoming Club Season’s sessions, and at then at the 38th Annual Club Banquet!
