Where does the thread start?
You just purchased a new large spool of Aurifil cotton thread and unwrapped it... now you are looking for the beginning of the thread but can't seem to find where it starts! Where is it?
ANSWER:
Simply wiggle or twist the plastic base of the spool a bit and it will actually come right off. The beginning of the thread is found tucked in nicely underneath!
Use the reverse process to secure the loose end of the thread when storing the spool. Simply wiggle the plastic base off of the spool, wrap the loose thread end once around the spool core, and snap the base on again (but not too tight). This process prevents those pesky thread tangles and makes for extra tidy thread storage!
